ELDERSHIP IN ACTION
Petrine McCrohan
Petrine has over 25 years in the fields of psychoanalytic psychotherapy, traditional Aboriginal social enterprise development and healing practices. Her interest in the interaction between the conscious and unconscious mind and the natural world, guides us to parts of ourselves we may have only but glimpsed or perhaps, neglected for a lifetime.
Petrine offers a unique set of skills that allows participants to access deeper parts of self. There are great mysteries in being alive and with most of us staying firmly planted in our personalities and sub personalities, we can often miss the ‘trails’ that can lead to encounters within our unconscious mind and our deeper soul purpose. The trails we walk will be enhanced by practices that will open us to discover many inner secrets.
These insights and tools can be taken back to your daily lives, knowing that what is experienced will continue to enhance and deepen moving forward.
‘Our wild selves possess astonishing resources, untapped potentials and depths that we might not even know exist until we discover how to access them, cultivate their strengths, and eventually integrate them into our everyday lives.’

LEAVING A LEGACY
Petrine has, since 2005, been involved in facilitating culturally based social enterprise development workshops. Petrine is now proudly working alongside the Yiriman Project the first culturally based suicide prevention program in a Traditional Healing Practices Pilot program, Jalngangurru as the Healing Coordinator.
Petrine reflects on seeing change in the local community:
Many years ago I facilitated a business development workshop with a family in Doon Doon Community. Unfortunately, there was some tragic events that occurred which meant the business never really took off. However, on my return in 2021, I was greeted with: "We are still using the business plan you did with us all those years ago!" It was done with a participatory planning tool.
One of the young boys now a grown man, has his own business Ringers 4WD and he remembers sitting in on the workshop as a young teenager. This is legacy.
This is a central point to the collaboration with Terry from Adventure Out and Petrine at Bridging The Landscapes. We feel a strong commitment to providing support, time and expertise to the local community, and in particular forming a joint venture with Ringers 4WD (Johnny Cooper) and honouring the custodians of this wild and beautiful country.
